Do coils make a certian noise when ther good or bad? I know im a noob but there is a crackling noise coming from my trailing coil only and i think it might be bad and causing my "crusing speed problem" (thead on this) and im notcing a bunch more backfires on decel. Also what is the mds part # for the replacement coil thanks in advance Peter A. Trapino.

 

The crackling niose is likely the spark jumping to the power or ground terminal. Good indication of a bad coil (cracked tower), or coil wire.

 

I second that. Pop the hood at night and you'll see where the popping noise is coming from-
