2-3 questions, electronic distributor, and electric choke issue
I have a stock distributor on my 79 but have an electronic one as well but its not installed. What other electrical parts am I going to need? I can salvage them off my 1981 parts car, but dont know what I am looking for. Perhaps someone has a shot of the engine bay and can point me to the parts I need to make the electronic pickup work in this 1979.
Second, my choke lever will not stay pulled out. I read that this was tied into the temp sensor on the coolant housing, but I am wired up to the thermo housing and the choke housing and my readings all look good there.
The connections on the radiator are NOT hooked up however. Do these play a part in the choke operation?
Thirdly, my bushings in the rear end, around the strut mount, are all shot. Not the shock mount itself, but right around there where the suspension bolts to the body. Can the bushings be replaced independently, or what can I do about this?

All you need to do the electronic distributor swap is a '81 or newer distributor. The ignition modules are mounted right on the distributor. You just need to fab up a little harness for the triggers and 12V supply to the ignitors. You should also change the coils to electronic type and bypass the ballast resistors. That's about it.
