2 or 3 piece apex seals?

Quick question I'm buildiing a 4port 13B with 12A plates and 85 SE rotors and housings. Should I use the 2 piece seals that originally came with SE 13B or the 3 piece from the 86-88. I was told that the 3 piece seals are better. Any thoughts?

Thanks, Ed

Mazda does not make the 3 piece seals [for the 86-and up] any more all you now can get fron your dealer is the 2 piece seals....

also the SE rotors only came with 3MM 2 piece seals any way.....

The original 3 piece from the 86-88 will not fit as they are 2mm where as the SE rotor uses 3mm. I would probably stick with the Mazda seals for the SE, but Atkins and RA seals are also good options. There is also debate as to whether or not Mazda still sells the 3 pc. seals. It seems that they have gone to a 2 pc. design, but some people have mentioned still recieving 3 pc. seals with the 2nd gen seal part number.
