Angry 1st get clutch problems

My friend has a 1st gen RX-7 FB3S, and we've been having clutch problems. It has not hydrolic pressure. We replaced the slave cylinder twice and the master cylinder as well. My general question is for advice on the problem and if you people on the forum have had any chronic problems like this. Next on our list to change is the lines, but frankly I'm about to give up. Any help would be appreciated.

yea, more info would really help, also were the slave cylinders used or did you replace them at different times as the master?

There could be a leaky line, but there aren't many in the system. I just rebuilt both cylinders and replaced a line in my clutch system last night and after some extensive bleeding, the clutch feels pretty good.

In the past, I have had trouble with the bleed screw on the slave cylinder. On my '82, I probably went through four of them. They just wouldn't seat properly in the threads, or they would strip easily, etc etc.

I got a genuine Mazda screw and the problem went away. Make sure you have compeletely bled the system, and prime the components with hydraulic fluid before you re-install them. Also make sure that the spring in the master cylinder is put in the right way, with the big end first. I made that mistake last night.

Good luck

make sure you bleed the system after... it needs to be... It shouldn't be like that... unless you have a heavy left foot...
