Unhappy 1st gens' big brake kit questions

ok, ive been searching the rofum and i saw that everyones been talking about the cp big brake kit. then my friend showed me an article in rx-tuner (volume 1, issue 5) FC-ya. on page 32, they had a big brake set up from a t2 fc.

wat im asking is...whos right?

the rx tuner only mentions a spindle adapter which i am clueless on. they said that its a basic bolt on. "if u can do a brake job you can do this conversion." all factory parts i assume.

the cp racing has a big kit also. i was reading it and it mentions that we needed to supply our own hub and such. wat are they giving us then?

im completely lost in this system and asking for clearence.

As I understand it, (And I have looked into this alot) The CP kit turns the front to five lug. If you wanted five lug this would be good, but I have four lug wheels and I don't want to buy new ones. CP says that you can re-drill the five lug FC rotors to use with -SE four lug pattern. Then you would need to re-drill the rotors every time you needed new rortors. On the good side parts would be eazy to get at any auto parts store.

The 7's only kit is very different. I uses an aluminum hub with a 11.75in rotor. This "bolts" on the stock 84-85 spindle. The 7's only kit "comes" with four piston outlaw calipers or uses the stock calipers.

Plus it looks cool

the Article in RX-tuner was on the cp racing kit. Search on user Bouis and you will see some pics of the kit, that he posted in the last week.

Now when you start reading you will find that the FC spindle is larger at the rear then the FB, and uses a larger bearing and grease seal. The adapter slides onto the spindle of the FB to change the size to fit the FC bearings. Also included in the kit is a mouning bracket for the calipers.

i like the sevensonly kit better, and now that they have an SE kit is even better.

but it is possible to buy the cp kit, but install a big brake upgrade kit for a 5-lug 2nd gen ontop of that! so those will probley the biggest brakes you could fit on the car!!!

carl.
