1st Gen wheel studs?

Ive had it with the lug nut studs all in one deal that came stock on the rx-7's. Im ready to upgrade to acutal wheel studs and lug nuts.

Does anyone have a source for a kit for a 1st gen or know what pitch metric thread it is? Im sure Jegs or Summit Racing has something that will work.

Any help would be appreciated~! Thanks, Carl

whats wrong with the lug bolt being all in one? Kinda saves some trouble in my eyes. But im sure you can drill out the threads and install studs that will fit...

Yeah Matt, Thats what I am looking for but I need much longer ones than that. Im going to be running spacers and pretty big wheels. Where did you get those from?

Blazer,

If your a guy who runs stock wheels and doesnt change wheels much the stock ones are fine. I change wheels a lot, and having studs will allow me to run different wheels and allow me to play with the offset. No need to drill out the threads, red loctite will do the trick.

I got them from Rotary7s on the fourm, I let him borrow my throttle bracket from my dellorto so he could make a coppy of it, and in return he send me those.

I will never use them, as I always plan on staying with my stock Limited Edition rims on my 83 LE.

If anyone needs them I will let them go cheap.

Carl, I can take them to the store and find out the pitch, size etc etc. Then you can just make them to your length needed. Would that work?

Let me know.

As you can see one is longer and a lil rusty

they are 1 3/4 inchs long

3/8 wide

They got the allen in them so you can screw them in tight.

No I am not. but the rims I have my new ones have big holes and I put the rim on my car and the holes that omost fit are big holes but alittle off. But if I get allen key bolts maybe they will fit on.

12 X 1.5 is the thread size and pitch. Pretty standard on many cars/trucks.
Many tire stores carry them, but you may have to order them for anything long enough to accomodate the spacers.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the civic uses 4x100. Many rims have both the 4x100 & 4x114.3 bolt patterns, however, the 1st gen 12a cars use a 4x110 bolt pattern. See the conflict?

Thanks to MattG for taking pics of his stuff. I found what I needed from ARP Products. 12M x 1.5 inch 3.25 inch studs. Will have to cut the knurl off and screw them in with some red loctite. But found what I needed. Thanks everyone!

Those spacers won't do a damn thing to help the mis-matched lug pattern.

openshot : i love you because i hate you man...did you ever get your car running?

why the hell would you put civic rims on it anyways? the civic rims look like **** IMO

i would either get a 4x114.3mm spacer and get some decent rims or buy some blank rims and have them drilled for your original bolt pattern.

Carl do you have a link or part number handy? I looked in the ARP catalog and didn't see anything. Mazda's longest one is 2-1/4". I was looking for some longer ones last year and kind of gave up, hoping tech would not notice......

Jegs part # 070-100-7713. Its an ARP stud with a 3.25" knurl. $15.99 for a set of 5. What I'm going to do is cut the knurl off the ends and screw them in with red loctite.

wheel studs

Unless you plan on drilling out the existing holes to fit the knurl I would suggest the screw in type set in locktite.

Check out this site for screw in studs.
