1st gen weight

Im looking for the weight of a completely stripped down 1st gen. I have a trade offer for my FC for a clean 1st gen body. Im thinking of doing it for the lighter weight. this car will become an all motor drag car. so im only concerned in the weight of a fully stripped out car.

thanks in advance...

is that with you in it?

so you still had the stock seat and gas tank installed and thats it?

what about the engine bay? what was removed? what was installed?

stock exhaust, headers?

sorry for all the questions... im just trying to be exact.

i would like it to weigh 1950 or less with me in it. i weight 190... so 1760 ready to race...

a 3 gallon fuel cell and aluminum racing seat would save me around another 100lbs. gutting the doors and some un-needed metal a few more pounds. im pretty sure i can get it there. theres always lexan windows and fiberglass hood and fenders...

well his car is at about 1827 without him in it. dropping from a half full stock tank to a full 3 gallon would put you at 1792 plus if you stripped out the doors i'm sure thats another 20lbs cause those door beams are thick which puts you roughly at 1772

then there's probably some weight you could lose in a few other places lexan would save i'm guessing at least another 20 which puts you at 1752 which is nice and light

Dont forget about all the sound proofing tar on the floor, that weighs quite a bit.
I stripped a 2900 pound cavalier down to 2080 and still could have gone another hundred pounds or so. I only stopped cause the rules for the class I was running mandate a 2200 pound minimum. I never touched anything structural either. I know that is kind of comparing apples to oranges but I'm just saying with enough ambition, you can get almost anything down to weight.
