my 85 GS with a 13b Holley conversion totally gutted in the back (carpet, boxes spare all the trim jack etc.) weighs in just over 1900lbs. I'm not sure how accurate the scale was it was at a salvage yard used for weighing big trucks. The GS was a good one to start with though, lack of factory power anything - windows mirrors locks and no cruise control give it a slight advantage in the Jenny Craig department

My '81 GSL racer weighs in at 1,950lbs without me in it. The car has an extensive roll cage, by the way.

the SRX7 minimum weight is 2530 (i know its alot) and i got the car down to that with 40lbs of ballast. now this year im allowed to gut the interiors (not the dash) and remove the cat... AND the min weight is gonna be STILL 2530, its insane. im gonna need ballast like you wouldnt believe. lol

Mild Steel. It runs from the strut towers back to the rear spring perches and has 21 mounting points. We used over 130 feet of tubing.

There's really that much weight inside?

Did you guys weigh before and after taking everything out? What all was removed? My '85 GSL-SE hits the scales at 2560lbs with me in it, so around 2400lbs.

How are you guys getting these so light? I always thought the average was more like 2500-2600? I am hearing an average of about 2300-2400. ??
Are they really that light or are you guys cheating and putting your foot under the scale. ehhe

All that's removed from mine is the AC and the cruise control. heh. Well, the parts of the AC inside the enginebay. The **** inside the dash by the passenger is all still there.

I can't imagine seats and sound deadening weighing an additional 300+lbs tho.... *scratches head*
