Yeah its sweet, but is it the new trend to not paint a hood. It kinda reminds me of someone wrecking their car, and hanging the new parts w/o painting them.
I think the hood is dark because it's made of Carbon Fiber.
Mike, check out the position of the radiator.
The placed it like a 2nd Gen one. BTW, that's how I have my Intercooler placed at the moment as well.

okay now that i'm done cleaning my self i can post my comments I WANT EVERYTHING ON THAT CAR!!!!! I want that front clip, the hood, rims, engine, ooohhhhh gggaaaawwwwddddddd
Mrph... I don't know. I like how the engine compartment was set up but... it's just too much. I like the Gen1 lines as is... putting on a body kit just sorta seems wrong to me. I don't agree with the unpainted carbon fiber hood schtick... and IMO that's overdoing it on the louvers.
... that said... it really is quite well done. I don't agree with the mods, but they look to have been pulled off quite well.

those rims r....
made by keizer i think. http://www.keizerwheels.com/2002_keizer_web_00000c.html they can make u that rim in any offset, width, bolt pattern.
if you take a closer look that radiator is huge...it won't fit in a vertical position. It's got plastic tanks so it's a newer style.
About the hood...it offers functionality and saves weight, might look ugly, I dig it.
The wheels oldschool and the proper size.
This car has my vote for old school performance with mods that make sense. No money wasted on unessesary bullshit. I liket it.

I like the whole thing. The hood should be painted, but I am not sure about the mirrors..

If someone figures out who made that wheel post it please!!!!!!!
I'm not big on the mirrors either, but 'to each their own'...
I've noticed the pillar mirror that our cars already have has made a big comeback, with even Hyundai using that type on their new Tiburon and BMW on the new Mini.
Aaron Cake often refers to the 1st gen lines as timeless. Given the number of times I've been asked if my car is a new Porsche I'd have to agree *L*
