So now that the project is getting close to release, what's the cost estimate for doing this?

And I s'pose even that could be broken down in bits:

1. Cost of your kit and instructions
2. Cost of the rack
3. Cost of the labour

I know you seem to be aiming for a do-it-yourself system, but if I felt like driving down to Toronto and getting CP to do it for me, what do you think they'd charge to find the rack for me and do the work? I am not a big guy on suspension... or really any serious mechanic work. Theory, I have in spades now... Practical skills... I can replace bolt-ons!

I know a few people have mentioned this with the V8 swaps, and i was just curious about something. Is there room to turn the engine cross member around backwards with the new rack? It's hard to get a feel for that with the pics, but all the V8 swaps require that. Regardless, this is a great kit, and we'll definatly be buying one for our clubs GSL that we use for racing. Keep us informed.

Yeah, I wonder why we haven't heard anything new about this in so long? I want it, but I am not going to collect parts until they start selling. Plus, I would like to hear more on the installation process.

Guys, they did say they're taking some time to test the kit and more info would be available in the first week of June - i.e. now-ish. The reason we haven't heard anything about it in so long is precisely because they were taking time to test it - Chris at CP Racing was driving the kitted car back and forth from work, etc. to put some miles on it and test its reliability

yeah, i'm with him...

today i ordered my Tockio Illuminas, Racing Beat rear Springs, Racing Beat front swaybar, Ground Control Coilovers, and all i still need to get is the Rack and Pinion Kit and some misc bushings, i'm also ordering the strut brace at the same time as the r&p kit.

are you going to sell a FULL kit including the rack as well as just the bracket and adapter? Seems like that might be a decent idea if you can find a decent source for the racks, it makes it easier for lazy people like me who have really CRAPPY junkyards around here.

I haven't posted here in a while, but I still want to be in on this. I have bought from CP before. I am willing to give this a try on a car that autocrosses and runs track events. Of course I will take complete suspensions measurements of bump steer and ackerman. Too bad this is not legal in some of the stock, SP or spec type classes, but I can live with that.

A way to put rack and pinion steering into our FBs would be as big a breakthrough as you could ask for. I know that even though I don't have the money right now, I'd damn well save up to get the money for this!! It's going to make CP racing even more popluar! :P

I'm sure there won't be any lack of candidates for trial-runs once the initial trials by Chris and co. are done

I usually play things on the conservative side, but this looks like a great upgrade. I have two old steering boxes in my car and my daughters. Both could stand to be replaced.

What happened to J. Oliver and Chris from C.P.? They haven't been in this thread in a while? Just a, "it's going great, gonna be ready in a couple weeks" would be nice. I am in the same boat, I only allow a cretain amount of money a month to go into this project, and I have a ton of stuff to buy. Do I wait patiently, or do I spend and then hope it is out for next month?

I have been very busy making the kit the very best it can be for you. I will not dissapoint. It will be ready for sale within a week. Cost total has not been completed yet due to the different stages of what will be supplied in the kit. ie: with or without the rack, new or used rack.
Chris and I will have it ready quite soon.

Thankyou for all your interest.

Sorry for the slow reply gentlemen, we have been hussling to get the kit available. Testing is complete, the kit has lived up to all expectations and then some. After many thousands of kms and an absolute beating and shannonville we have encountered no problems of any kind. We are preparing the kit for production currently, we will be offering 2 stages one that includes a rack and bolts in and the other stage will require the purchaser to acquire there own rack. We will have more info very soon. Thank you for all your patience, we have a great deal of emails coming in, we will get back to all of you that do email. As for purchasing, to clear up any confusion the kit will be availble through CP RACING only. Numbers to follow. take care all

Chris
