manntis-- i could be wrong, but ive browsed many japan rx7 sites and didnt see them. i think the ZG flares could easily be modified to fit our cars. i dont know this from personal experience. i will though if there isnt a better option in the near future.

Because rotary repair shops were more plentiful in Japan, whereas North America was awash in rumours of having to rebuild the engine every 30K and other such BS. So for the NADM they went with a normally aspirated, fuel injected 13B with a broad torque band whereas in Japan they went with the 12At.

IMHO we got the GOOD end of the stick - the GSL-SE's 13B is one of the most reliable n/a rotaries ever made and, with RB exhaust, puts out decent power with daily driver reliability.

Another shameless self-promotion by Fibremaz! not that anybody's annoyed by it, mind you. Carbon fibre is all the rage these days...

Thats how it always is with japan and us. They have the nissan skyline gtr and we have maybe 300 in the country. They always have the better version of cars that our made their and worse versions for us.

Yeah, that's the way a 2nd gen radiator sits in there. It's amazing how much more room there is in the engine bay doing it that way. I've still got to do mine.

Man, I love that site. Pure first gen heaven.

Thanks for the link!
I actually dont mind the look of the rear bar with the moulding removed as it gives it a bit of a racing look... But incomplete nevertheless!
Just gotta get me some of those datsun flares!!!

How many of you noticed that the "Savanna RX-7" (similar to the "Mazda RX-7" emblem on US cars) emblem is only on the passenger (left) side of the JDM cars?

Saw several Series 2 cars with Series 1 rear bumpers. I guess that's a "look"?

Took me a minute to figure out what was odd about the white Series 2 here and several pictures following. It's the window frames on the doors. They've been flushed with the body, drip rails removed from the roof, and polycarbonate windows with slide-open openings flushed into the doors. Shaved door locks, too. Very slick.

Definitely some sweet first gens there. I've got to get me a set of those early IMSA/ZG-style fender flares...

Lots of SA bumpers on FB's Glad I'm not the only one.

What's up with removing the SA bumper trim strip? Seems like every one I saw was removed.

Whoa awesome pictures. They keep them in much better condition there than here. Either that or too much pride to show up with a beater. Nonetheless there were some crazy lookin cars there. The last and most interesting was the pressure chamber with the 4 injectors shooting in it. As for the hoods it's not really anything special and you could get it done at pretty much any hotrod shop. Louvre's like that were big in the 50's on rat rods
