1st gen idle mixure
yeah, what i do is slowly lean it out until it runs rough and slowly richen it back up until the engine holds a smooth idle. should get you really close. after that you may have to check and adjust idle speed. you'll want to wait until your engine reaches normal operating temperature before making any adjustments.
If you haven't downloaded a copy of the FSM or carb manual, do so. There is a link to the online editions in my sig line. The idle mix and throttle screw position change from year to year.
