Angry 1st gen idle mixure

where is the mixture screw suppose to be set on a 83 gsl? is it supposed to be rich lean or in the middle ?

As I understand it, you turn the mixture screw to get the highest idle. Then adjust the idle screw to get the idle right, then go back and forth a few times to be sure you've got it right.

yeah, what i do is slowly lean it out until it runs rough and slowly richen it back up until the engine holds a smooth idle. should get you really close. after that you may have to check and adjust idle speed. you'll want to wait until your engine reaches normal operating temperature before making any adjustments.
