Whats a header ? A header is a manifold for the exhuast on internal cumbustion engines. On motorcycles
there are headers or chambers. On race VW's there are called extractors. Mods. performance ? or looks ? One mod that does both is change over to stainless steel
braided hoses. A better type of air cleaner. Wheel studs.
A hi-flow cat. keep in mind that these mods are to keep the engine stock as much as possible. Oh and a performance clutch.

Timmy,
How the hell can you have 200+ posts and not know what a header and Nikki are?
As mentioned above, a header is an exhaust piece that attaches to the exhaust holes on the engine block. It replaces the "thermal reactor" and is designed to be much more free flowing, thus increasing HP.
Nikki is the name of the company that makes the stock carburetor for the Rx7. Stock Nikki's are alright for stock engines, but once you get any porting done, or any major performance modifications, your HP will be limited by keeping the stock carburetor. Holley, Weber and Dellorto make intake kits (carburetor, intake manifold, air cleaner) for the Rx7 which flow more air/fuel and thus also increase HP.
You can find both weber intake kits and Exhaust Headers at www.racingbeat.com .
Oh, and Timmy, spend some good quality time reading around in the forum, grab a Heynes manual, and for goodness' sake get an Avatar! You have over 100 posts so you can even have a custom one if you want.

An exhaust header is an exhaust manifold that has equal length extractors so there is no turbulence when the air from the two tubes joins at the outlet. An extractor is the term typically used for headers overseas, not only on "race VW's". Extractors actually makes a little more sense than "headers", but so does football/soccer etc. Anyway, you get the point. Talk to any englishman or aussie and they'll start throwin' around the terms extractors, boot, and bonnet. Figure out the last two on your own.
