Nice compliment!

But I do belive that both cars have similiar suspension setups? At least they are both small and light.

similar suspension?

the miata suspension could be compared to a second or third gen but not a first.

fully independent double wishbone on all four corners.

the first gen has a strut setup in the front and solid axle in the back.

I was thinking the same thing, but i dont mind the non-power steering. Gives you a better feel to the road...

I agree with not wanting the power steering. I drove my cousins 3rd gen, and the power steering seems to "fade away" at higher speeds. Its really kinda nice because you get the best of both worlds, power steering in parking lots, but nothing on the highway, just the feel of the road. I dont know if thats normal or not, but its cool. He said that the person he bought it from did some work on the steering, so I dont know if its "normal".

You were able to get the Miata without power steering... I would LOVE to get the miata shifter and steering in my FB....

My next door neighboor has a miata, thats been well turbo'd running 9psi, with an all the RB suspension mods. He let me take it for a drive, then I got in my 85 GS, and took it for a spin. The steering is much tighter on the miata, and the suspension was a lot more responsive. The power, was obviously beyond compare.... it flew through the gears. The cockpit is a bit tighter, not great for a 6'1" person that I am, but other than that...... .....

Amazingly though it felt extremely close to what I would imagine my 1st gen, with 200hp, and a well upgraded suspension.... The "feel" is almost identical.
