I have both fc and fb's, the 1st gen is funner to drive and less of a boulievard criuser like the fc. The only thing i like better about the second gen is the rack and pinion steering, the "rock and stick" (resirculating ball) system in the 1st gen is very jurassic in it's design and function....good luck- 1st gens won't get you any "patch" like the second gens will but they are a lot funner to drive.

How easy would it be to lower the trailing arms on an '83 like they did on the '84 and '85? I assume that this was the main factor in improved handling.
