1985 gs omp reservoir questions

So I’m planning on rebuilding my omp and cleaning it this weekend before I start changing things.

I’ve seen people people do this with the rotary aviation adapter and also by blocking off the old lines with a thin plate between the omp and engine then adding a nozzle for a new line.

what I’m wondering is if I can use the original nozzles on the OMP and feed it from a reservoir there.

Is your car 13b?

If it's not 13b it won't work/fit on your 12a motor ...

It's only for 13b and Renessis motors .....

Sorry I’m a newb

I have a 12a. I think I was was just using the rotary aviation adapter as an example. I saw other people attach a nozzle for a 2 stroke line on the pumps side.

I asked the original question before I understood how the omp works.

There have been write-ups here about modifying the original mechanical OMPs to block them from pumping engine oil, and put a nipple/nozzle onto it to suck from a container of 2-stroke oil. I think this is what you're asking about.

I contacted the Rotary Aviation guy a while back and asked if he had, or could make me, one for either a 12A or a GSL-SE front cover. He responded quickly (and politely) that he didnt have any more and they were too expensive to machine in quantities less than 200 at a time (500?). Sounded like he lost money on them and the airplane guys only use later 13B, Renesis and single rotor engines (like Raven mentioned).

I bought up some used OMPs and rebuild kits and someday Ill try to make one. Really wish I could find one of his though.

I modified a few 12a omp for 2 stroke oil. Also made SS tubing lines to the carb. (Mikuni) with compression fittings on the pump.. lines could be bent to use on any carb. I rebuilt the pumps with viton orings from local hydraulic shop.. I could sell u one.
