Just wondering what part this is in the engine and what is its function we're restoring a 1984 RX7 help would be great thanks so much

1984 Mazda RX7 does anybody know what this part is and what it controls we're restoring the car thanks for the help

 

Hot Start Assist - when you're starting a warm engine it gives the throttle a tug so you don't have to tap the pedal.

As mentioned above, it's the hot start assist motor. Its function is to apply a light amount of throttle pressure to the carburetor when the engine is started at normal operating temperature. It makes starting a warm engine easier.
