Purchased an new after market fuel pump and a new fuel filter for my FB 12A.
Got everything installed.
When I crank the car I get this repeated ticking (like the sound a car battery might make when its dead), and the car won't start.
I don't know what this sound is or why the car won't start.
Everything is hooked up the way the attached manual diagram shows, except for the hoses in and out of the rollover.
In my car the on and out are reversed; However, that how they were before the pump swap when the car was running fine.
I've confirmed flow direction on filter and pump. Both are pointing toward the carb, and the filter -positioned between the tank and pump is completely full of fuel.
Also, I clipped the factory connector from the original lblack and black/white).
The new pump had black and red (+).
I twisted the black to black and red to black/white. This was correct, yes?
Also, here are pics of the splice I did and the new pump wiring schematic.
Assumption was the OEM black is negative and the black/white is positive.
Did I get this right?
Here is link to a video on YouTube I posted showing the pump when I crank the engine.
