Question 1983 dash???

I've read a few posts in the archive on how to remove the dash, but they all seem to be targeted towards the 84 and 85 models or don't resemble my issue. I've removed everything except the top part and the actual dashboard. I've read somewhere that there should be some screws that would release the dashboard, but I can't find anything anywhere. As for the top section, it feels as if it's being held in at the middle. I can upload photos when I get home. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Woah thanks! I did some careful re-examination of it and solved my problems. Why do they make it so bloody difficult?!

So this must be something very obvious cause it seems like I'm the only one having this problem. I can't seem to get my air conditioner control matrix out. It appears that the certain parts controlling the release for the ducts are connected in such a way that it would be next to impossible to reattach. What am I missing? I still can't seem to pull the top cover off....
