The 1984/1885 trans will bolt to the engine and work fine. The issue is the shifter location. It would require some modifications to the shifter housing and rod. I've never gone it but have read the write ups here on the forum.

What about the diff do I need to redo my gear ratio? Any links from those forums would help a lot thanks!

Since your converting a 1982, you don't have to worry about making an adapter plate for the trans. The 1979-1983 use the same trans mount location. The 1984-1985 have different locations for auto and manual.
