If it weren't for the grainy picture quality, I'd swear you were one of those 20-something doofuses you see nowadays. You know... The ultra-hip ones that are way into the Strokes...

got married in 1983 and when my son was born in 1987 the car was sold. So here's a couple more of the wife in 1983 and then the FD in the same spot in 2006.

Great retro pic. Reminds me of the old days with the hair and the flannel. You need another 1st gen to go with the 3rd.

awesome pics!! you should take one of yourself now by the FD and post it.....but with the flannel shirt and the crotch huggers and shoes with yellow laces.

what did the car cost you new? did the salesman at the dealership take you seriously knowing that you rode to the dealership on a bike?

I did the same thing. Went to Sioux City IA and bought a brand new 1980 RX7. Black. I wanted the Tornado Silver, but it was going to be an extra $100 and a three day wait to drive it up from KS.
By the way. It is still in my driveway.

Oh, also, I have a red FD sitting next to it. Along with a black second gen vert, and a grey FB.

Yea, maybe I'll go to the Salvation Army and pickup a shirt. The shoes were Clyde Pumas.

The car new was it think 9300. At the time most dealerships were getting over sticker. I actually made 4 trips to the dealer, dropping off partial payment checks until I could pay for the whole thing. It was the Mazda dealer (maybe its gone now) on Northern Blvd just over the NYC border in Nassau County.

BTW: at the time my dad wanted me to get a pickup truck
