I posted a long thread asking about a tranny swap...but there was no reply and the site was down last time I checked...so I did the swap and it didn't work...I will spend all next weekend on it all over again!

 

Just repost your question. Sometime the Forum will Burp and loose the text eventhought the title starts a new thread. Just one of those odd occurances.


By the Way The 79 and 80 have a different size Flywheel and Clutch from the 83, and a different Tail Shaft and Shifter. If that was your question.

 

Okay...So, should I take the gears out of the 79 and put them in the 83? The 83 transmission is shot...the 79 is in damn good shape...So, um...is that possible of should we just get a rebuild kit for the transmission?!

 

there is a write up somewhere on here on how to switch the tail sections between the two trans. If you were closer I would trade you it for one from an 83.

The basics is that you pull the tail section, Mod or change a roll pin and change a shaft.

It may have been in the Rotory Performance section or in one of the race sections, Wish I could help more but I just dont remember.
