1979/80 Racing Beat Springs Fitment Question

Is anyone familiar with installing the front RB Springs with KYB Struts? The shop is telling me the springs won't work with the OEM Strut Mounts. RB is closed for the weekend so I cant ask them. The site said they should be a direct replacement. Any ideas?

Thanks

What shop did you take your car to?

Yes, they will work with OE strut mounts.

Just a local shop in Vegas that is recommended on the KYB site as an installer.

Go somewhere else, because that shop mechanic has his head up his ***. I ran RB springs on my 80LS for many years and they ended up on my current 84SE. The only difference is that the strut tops rotate in a bearing on the FB, but are fixed strut tops on the SA: neither of which matters to the springs.

if you're handy at all, spring installation isn't at all difficult. Paying someone else to give you bad advice is painful, however.

Thank you. I was kind of thinking the same but wanted to confirm with others more familiar with this than I am.
