Man, those look awesome on there!

Just a question, is there really any benifit as far a traction is conscerned by going that wide, or is it purely for looks beyond a certain point?

Haha yes. The contact patch you can put on the ground, the better your handling will be. I can only see negative returns when you get outrageous wide like on drag slicks or something like that... but Formula cars have pretty wide slicks (or so it seems).

Also, since there is more contact patch with the ground, there is more friction and that means more rolling resistance so you'll get a little worse mileage and speed. That's why gas saving hybrids have really skinny tires.

but the car has got to come down, if just a little bit.

just haul around a set of 2x4s to drive on if you come to a driveway that is too steep.

I know it would be worth it to me if my car looked that sick.
