I want my car to look good, but mostly I want to improve handling. The 16's will still leave about 3" of sidewall, which should have a little flex, but not too much. As well, I think they'll look good.

the 15's aren't too much of an upgrade over the stock rims, and the 17's are a bit too much, so I'll think I'm ordering a set of 16's next week after I get paid.

Thanks for all the input guys!

-Spencer

Hmmm... no comments on the Scorcher T/As?

LMAO

I just happened to stumble across them on the TireRack site, lol.

Take a look at this:
https://customcolor.bfgoodrichtires....es.d2w/report?

And I think a muti-colour burnout would be cool to see, I just don't think I could live with myself if I it was mine.

Here is what I can help you with. The bolt pattern is 110*4 to 114*4. This is a universal fit. It came off of my 84 GSL/SE. Tire i think are toyo's. Size is 205 40 17. Rims are 17 7. Hope this helps.

Thanks
Carl

Just find out the brand/model of the rims and look it up. I am not sure what bolt patterns are on them, but he has them marketed to the 81-85 rx7 crowd only. If he was smart he would list them for the hondas and such (because they blow alot more $ alot quicker ) I would be wary until you find out bolt pattern and offset for sure... Ask him what car he took them off of.

The MIM Asti's? Yeah, I think they look awsome, and MIM is a really good brand. They make OEM rims for a bunch of companies including Mazda, and have a 48 month warranty.

I'll be getting a set of 16's next week I think.

Hehe, read BadAssRX-7's post:
It came off of my 84 GSL/SE.

If you think you can fit 17's on a 1st gen, then by all means go ahead and try. The offset is wrong and the rim too big if you lower your car. If you don't lower your car, I'm sure they might fit. but who wants a stock supension set up anyways? Not me. I have 15 Rikens on my 85 T2 and last year was running 205.55/155 toyo's in the back and the wheel well lip tore the sidewalls right off my brand new tires. By the way, my car was lowered 1.5 inches with B&G springs.

What are you talking about?? There are 2 people here that have 17s on a 1st Gen! My car is lowered 2.5 inches and all I had to do was lip the rear guards!

I would have a chat to the place you got your rims from because THEY ordered the wrong offset....

Umm... as far as I know, as long as the tire and rim combo are correct, the total diameter should add up to about 20", regardless of rim size. Any other problems would be with the offset of the rims or width of the tires.

I'm running 16s no problem, and with a lower profile/same offset I could (but don't want to) run 17s easily. Just more bone-jarring, shitty steering, and visions of high credit card balances whenever I cross train tracks, speed bumps, or any bump larger and/or more solid than a fallen leaf.
