is a 15.5 quarter fast?
Hey guys
I recently ran a 15.5 at 139kph (sorry 86mph) on the quarter last night.
That was my best time and incidently it was also my first run ever. I have a 1985 sa22c, 13b six port motor with a nikki carb and headers with a couple of straight through mufflers, and a series 4 turbo gearbox.
Just wondering if that time is fast for the setup that i have, and wondering what other people have been running with their 7's
I had major problems trying to shift into fourth and I lost alot of time trying to jam it in. It went in if I flatshifted fourth... maybe the synchros, maybe its the clutch as it has an upgraded pressure plate. When I put it in first and keep the clutch in, the car creeps forward.. Im going to ditch the clutch and get a stock rx7 pressure plate me thinks
Anyways, any replies would be fantastic :-)

thanks guys,
yeah i know that i can do better, I should really look into a new carb maybe... ive got a 32/36 but that would be worse than a nikki :-)
I want to retain the stock omp though, not into pre mixing

what are the condition of your tires? maybe you had problems with traction????
i would think your times would be faster than that.
And if you crossed going 86 mph, why would you have to shift into forth? (sorry for my ignorance to 1st gens, but i have 2 fc's and 3rd gear at redline is +/- 100 mph)

its quick for a essentially stock first gen. be proud considering these cars run like a 10 sec 0-60 from the factory, and by now that could way slower from lack of compression and proper maintenance.
