13bt swap info (searched)
over 70% of the links are dead in the FAQ on turbo FB swaps and I have a question that maybe some of the turbo FB crowd can answer.
setup
apexi power FC
1990 13bT turbo II engine rebuilt
12a front cover
FMIC
3" exhaust
I need information on how the various members did the OMP. not includeing pre-mixers
did you use the 12a OMP on the 12a front cover, or did you somehow modify the 13bt OMP to mate up to the 12a front cover?

Damn, it did start!
gsl-se front cover has the 4 OMP outlets for the newer 13bt and the front mount provision for the first gen

Richard, thanks for the info, I am currently stationed in Japan, and the GSL-se was not available over here, only the 12AT (which is what I have) the 12at also has 4 outlets on the OMP but it is mechanical not computer controlled, the japanese inspection -place insists that I keep the electronic controls for it to be compatible with the gas (exhaust) test.
is the GSLE electronic? maybe I could bastardize one of them to work...

The SE OMP is mechanical as well. It is probably the same as the 12at. It is the same for the 84-88 13bs here at least. The '89+ are electronic. You may be able to use the 12at cover and the 12at OMP. If you use the 1990 TII ECU, you will need to have the '90 OMP plugged in to keep the ECU from going into 'limp' mode. You can just tuck it in the engine bay somewhere.
The other option is to modify the 12a cover and use the '90 OMP. I believe that is what steve84gsTII did.

Yep.
The S5 throttle has no provision to actuate an OMP rod,so youll have to run premix or modify a 12A front cover to accept the S5 OMP.A little TIG work and then machine it flat and drill the new holes. Its not too hard.....
If you premix, youll have to plug the S5 OMP in and tie it off to the side as gsl-se addict stated. Then block off the OMP pad on whatever front cover you use.
What are you planning to use for an oilpan since the SE wasnt availible in Japan?

The NA 13b into the SA body is such a common swap that they actually sell an oil pan for it. I bought one new off of Yahoo japan for about 150.00 and it bolted right up, has space to clear the recirculating ball steering linkage and everything else. My Jappanese budy that used to work at Mazda thought that it might be the stock oil pan for one fo the older 13b chassis cars like a Luce, or older Cosmo.
Do you have any photos of how you modified yours? eventually there is a Power FC that is going in this after the engine swap Inspection and retitling takes place.
I was thinking of getting a welding shop to jsut weld up the houseing and then machining it back down to make a pad. any thoughts?

Sorry reread your post and realized that welding it was what you were talking about.
