13BT first gen throttle cable

For those of you with a 13bt in your first gen, how did you secure that long T2 throttle cable? What did you attach it to as it loops around? Any pics?

thanks

The TII engine should have several looped holders that mount to the engine to hold the cable as it snakes around the front, passenger side and then to the back side of the engine. Search through the 2nd gen section for pics.

Section 4B, page 43 of the 87 FSM has a couple of line diagrams which show the cable holders. There are 2 like the one shown in the front. The second one is on the driver's side. I'm not sure what's used on the passenger side, I haven't located mine yet. lol

Yeah, I have the 2 cable holders but just trying to find a good place to secure them. The one on the drivers side I think I'm gonna attach it to this little tab that comes off of the oil fill. The passenger's side, I need to make a bracket like Mel suggested but just trying to get an idea where to run it from. The passenger side cable holder doesn't want to slide across the cable, it seems to be stuck in one place. I will take a look at the FSM, Thanks

Yeah, the third gen throttlebody is just on the other side of the firewall from the pedal. It's a normal legnth cable. The TII cable wraps around the stock intercooler and is like 15 feet long. maybe closer to 6feet, but still really long.

Yea I know the T2 cable is rediculous, I haven't gotton my T2 swap on the road yet, this is one of those details I'm still pondering. Maybe I'll pick up a FD cable...

Wow, nice car! No strut bar for me I'll probably just make an aluminum bracket that runs from the top of the intake manifold to the cable. I'll try and get some pics on here later.

I don't know if a gslse cable might work but I already have this bran new t2 cable so I will just stick with it and make some sort of bracket.

If you have a right hand drive car the std Sa22c throttle cable will work as thats what i used on mine, im unsure if this would work for a left hand drive car.

Here's a quick pic for those interested. Yes, I still have the AC in there (for now anyways......lol). Everything would be soo much cleaner if it was gone but it still works.

I just used the stock brackets and everything.
Sure, its long....but its smooth.Bending a shorter cable around a tight radius just invites premature failure.

Cool, looking at your pic just made me think, maybe I can run the bracket from the water pump housing area rather than from the top of the intake manifold!! Thanks
