13B Turbo on a 12A? IS it possible?
13B Turbo on a 12A? IS it possible?
Is it possible to put a 13B turbo on a 12a engine? I can get a 13b turbo and all other parts for $50, its such a steal but i wanted to see if it was possible. I know there's 10 ci difference between the two, but i didn't know if the housings are the same and there's just a difference in the rotors, or if it's the other way around. Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

People have done it. You've gotta mod the manifold. I think the simplest way was to just oval out the holes on the 13B manifold so that it bolts to the 12A...
EDIT:
Damn. Two posts within seconds of each other with the same damn info... Better change it up then. You can also get the Racing Beat header flange and weld it to the 13B manifold. It'll give you a little more meat with which to port match... And it'll space the turbo manifold a little further off the engine... I forget who did it like that. I think it was "WackyRotary"... See his writeup which was recently moved to the Archive.
EDIT AGAIN:
Here's what he did to the manifold:

Looks like there's extra layers of stuff welded to it.
