When I did mine, I found a wrecked 87 GXL and took the engine, trans, fuel tank, and all the wiring/electronics/and computer. If you go aftermarket ECU HalTech has some pretty good units these days. The easiest way to put an S4/5 13b in an SA is to use a 12A or ideally a GSL-SE front cover and the Racing Beat/GSL-SE mount for the swap. The 13b is slightly longer than the 12A and the front mount has to be modified for the SA/FB chassis. The GSL-SE oil pan is also necessary, or you will be doing a lot of PITA modifications to the S4 pan. Using the SA/FB trans is better as the shifter location on the FC trans is further back and will not fit in the original opening. It can be made to work with either a tail shaft swap or body mods, again unnecessary PITA. I cut out my spare tire well and used the FC fuel tank to get the sumped in tank fuel pump. Not the best solution. Get an aftermarket sump and fuel pump from Tanks Inc. or others and use the original tank, believe me this is far less work than cutting the well and trying to change the fuel filler. (The FC has the fill neck on the opposite side of the car than the SA/FB). If you go with the stock ECU and wiring, then download the schematics from https://foxed.ca/. You are going to become intimately familiar with the FC and SA wiring as you try to adapt the FC harness to the SA chassis. It is easier just to go with the HalTech and adapt your original harness (more expensive, but MUCH easier). I think I've covered most of it. The fuel tank and electronic issues are why most folks go carbureted. In the end it is typically cheaper.

Rotary swaps are easy and cheap if you stay with a carb setup. EFI makes it much more complicated. Learn to love a carb, its more fun anyway IMHO.
