13b into SA Q's

This is the first time I've ever taken an engine out or put one in... but it was surprisingly easy, although it was a very dirty job. So I swapped the engine in NP. It's physically mounted in the bay, etc. For smog reasons I am also swapping in all the emissions crap as well, to be removed later.

I want the bay to look perfect, but I don't want to repaint it. In the picture you can see this yellowish stuff that looks like glue from the shock tower, that has run down the seems in the lower right. There is also a lot of scratches and chips in the white paint. some rust around the brake cylinder, and a tiny bit under the battery tray. I treated the rust with phosphoric acid, which converts it to iron oxide (I believe).
If I buy some "Aurora white" from one of those online paint stores and brush it on these areas, will it look ok? I guess I could rip everything out, mask it off, and order a spray can for better blending...

I used the "straighten method" of modifying the mounting bracket. The picture doesn't really show it well, but the engine mount is within a millimeter of the oil pan on the drivers side. Will this cause problems? That connection is fairly stable I believe, but I don't want anything seriously bad to happen. I am considering buying that piece from mazdatrix that adapts it to the 12A subframe. I am also considering swapping the subframe from the donor vehicle. However that vehicle was in an accident and I am not sure if the subframe is 100% straight.

The last question, and most important: the injector connectors in the harness are damaged. They were so brittle that when I pulled them off, even though I was trying to be carefull, a couple of the corners on the plastic broke off. Can I buy these connectors somewhere in good condition? I fear that if I score some from a junkyard they will be just as brittle and old as the originals. I went to the auto parts store but had no luck. Are they the same as parts from another FI car?

heh, not worried about job difficulty... this isn't that hard really. The whole point of the swap is so I can mess around with FI. Once i get past smog I will install an aftermarket ECU.

IF someone could answer my question about the FI clips I would really appreciate it.

Clip are a standard Bosch low impedence style. I replaced them on my 2nd gen with some off of a newer Ford frorm the wreckers.

Check the parts stores a little harder. Some of them here actually carry them in stock.
