one of my friends is comming to florida, he will be here 2 weeks.. he wants to get a swap done.. how much time total would it take to get a second gen n/a or turbo 13b into the fb.. and how much would it cost (including special wiring harness, mounts, and so on) thanks for the help..

Woow, not easy to say... What about "blood, sweat and tears"...??? It really depends on what specs you want, and how well you know the cars. The engine itself is an easy swap (12A front cover + RB brace + oilpan) but the wiring... I have the complete NA loom on the floor right now, trying to figure out what I need, and what not... And let me tell you: I am not gonna make it in two weeks...

I have the entire setup from my GSL-SE up available. It has everything needed for the swap, including, ecu, harness, fuel pump etc. It is a ported motor and a direct bolt in. It could be done a lot faster than a 2nd gen..

My project was thought of as a 13B NA swap, so I bought a donor FC. Then I decided I'd rebuild the engine. Then I got into turbo. Now I have bought a nice new turbo (TII). And a brand new short block on order.
So over two weeks work... What I mean is: if you start a 13B conversion, you might better do it right. There's no point in putting an old engine it. So most of the time the project will simply grow over your head... Well, that is if you're a maniac, like most of us are

isnt that how it always is ? , when you start using performance logic over cost, ie : "well the 1st gen motor is going bad so we will dump a street ported tII in there, because um.. because damnit!"

That's just right, and better well is. That's what gives us those nice horror stories to tell eachother. Or the fun parts about being under a car until somewhere in the midlle of the night, on a cold garagefloor... Ahh, the romance of being always broke despite a good job, just because the car needs to be faster... Don' you just love it?
