13b into a 1st gen

Long time no see, hows everyone doing?

Anyway, I am going to be getting my car back on the road (1984 GSL with the IMSA kit on it) and I want to have some power.

I want to swap in a 13b. I am looking for a 1986 - 1992 stock 13b with wiring harness.

Max, you said something about the oil pan and a moutning brace (I know racing beat does one of these so I think I am covered there).

I want the 13b to be low kms and have good compression and minimal mods (I want to do this myself) I need the wiring harness aswell as the ECU (or should I go aftermarket???).

If anyone has any of the following (and is around calgary) gimme a shout:

- 1986 - 1992 13b with low kms
- Wiring Harness
- Stock ECU or a used Haltech or Wolf3d
- Racing Beat 13b Engine mount adapter
- Any experience with a swap like this.

Thanks in advance,

4ohfour

You're also going to need the front cover from (preferably) a GSL-SE and the oil pan from the same. You can use the 12a front cover, but the OMP won't line up. NOTE: This is for the series 4 13B, I think the series 5 13B you need some other stuff.

If you can afford it, go with the Haltech (Paul will tell you the same thing). The wiring is a bitch to get right. I'm now troubleshooting mine and it sucks so much.

I just got done doing the swap myself with an 88 13B. It's a little tricky, but very possible. If you have any specific questions, feel free to PM me and I'll try to help.

BTW, the second gen 13B looks badass sitting in a first gen, I'm very happy about doing the swap.

Does the GSL have the bolt pattern of an SE or the other ReXes? I notice Paul has he same Enkeis on his GSL as I have on My GSL-SE

cancel last. Closer inspection of his donor cars reveals a GSL-SE. Not sure if he mislabeled the finished car a GSL or swapped over the SE suspension, etc.
