13b cutting out(fuel pump?)
My 84 13b has developped a wierd problem. It cuts out without warning, or specific circumstance( hot, cold, criusing...) It seems to be fuel pump related( when I try to restart no fuel pump noise). After some time, between 30min and 36 hours the car restarts, and runs for between 5min and 6-7hours. Does the fuel pump have a relay? This is a common problem in my other cars (Volvo`s), change the relay and go in peace for anather 100,000 miles. If yes where is the relay for the pump. Any other suggestions as to the root of my problems?
Thank You

I was never able to fine mine. So I ran a new hot lead to the pump with a toggle switch and the problem went away. Plus I was adding and anti-theft fuel pump turn off swithch.

I had a strangly similar problem with my car in my case it was more severe & did not start all the time. I thought it was the fuel pump at first but finally it was the MAF that was bugging, swaped it with my spare and problem solved.
check your MAF to see if it is operating properly.

Merci Montrealer. Do you know if the engine will run with the mas airflow sensor unplugged(limp home mode in various vehiciles)? If not how does one test a maf in a Mazda, as I do not have a spare, and the local dealer wnats nothing to do with a rx-7.
Thanks again
