You will need to weld in a bung for an oxygen sensor... and you'll need an oxygen sensor...

GSL-SE.......it has an O2 sensor already.

There should be 3 wires on the sensor......no garuantees, but this is typical wiring colors for them......

Red.....power....12V when the key is on.
Black....negative....ground to chassis or frame.
White or purple.....signal wire......run that wire to the oxygen sensor wire in the engine bay.The O2 sensor is on the exhaust manifold, and it will have one wire coming off of it,leading into the large engine wiring harness. Its likely to be all caked and brittle from years of dirt, grease and heat.Youll need to find a clean portion of the wire and strip some insulation back, then attach the wires from the gauge, without actually cutting the O2 sensor wire. That way,the sensor will still be sending a signal to the engine computor like its supposed to.I recommend that you solder the gauge wire to the O2 wire, for the best results.

You do know that the cheap narrowband sensors give you no real, usable info right?
Also, dont mount it in too obvious of a spot, from the drivers seat......its gonna drive you insane when the lights start bouncing back and forth, when the ECU goes into closed loop mode and leans the mix to save gas(cruising)......

narrowband gauges arent much use anyway, they give you a "general idea" of where you stand as far as rich/lean. but nothing more.

but yes...just splice into the o2 sensor wire for the signal.

dont tap from the dist, go for your negative trailing coil.

The stock O2 sensor wire is a shilded wire. Be careful when tapping into the wire if you want either of them to work. It would be better to install a seperate bung.

True.

Mine was only sheilded inside the main harness,I assume to prevent crosstalk from other sensors. If you go down near the O2 sensor,it should be standard wire.

If you find a braided metal sleeve around the inner wire's insulation, then look elsewhere for a place to hookup. If that metal braid touches the inner signal wire, then the O2 sensor signal will go to ground and be useless.....
