ok im looking 4 apic of aSTOCK old school? 4 port lower intake. a friend has a "6 port" and im trying to explan that is not a 6 port, there are no 6 port acuators. not even a spot that ther used to be some. i think this is a old school 4 port 13b. i do know this thing has huge exh. ports and they bont look ported or have the steel inserts.. it doesnt have a knock sencer, but does have the motor mount holes on the center plate. thanks for the help fellow rotor heads

 

Front plate Mount = 1985 and Older
Center plate mounting = all the 2nd Gen Motors
Rear Plate mounting = 93+ motors

All 2nd Gens were 6 port NA's or 4 Port Turbo.

So, by all reasons just stated, your friend is looking at a 2nd Gen TII shortblock.

good pics, got them of the outside? the intake he has DOESNT HAVE any kinda 6 port mech. thats what got me...we didt remove the intake, only the upper. thanks

thanks madman but nope, i need the OUTSIDE not the motor side of the intake. see this is driving me NUTS(didnt have far) its a 2 peice man. and its 13b i know but there arent 6 port spots, not ever the intake looks like a 4 port. ... the odd thing is the block had (had) injectors in the center plate, and it has 4 oil metering lines and pump vacume thinggys. but im not sure it they are on the intake and motor or not ill get some pics tomorrow. when did they start making a 2 peice man.? will a t2 lower bolt to a old school 4 port motor?

 

Well if the center plate has the motor mounts and the fuel injector bosses, then the whole motor is second gen. You say it's a four port with no knock sensor boss, so you are probably looking at a frankenstien N/A. I bet that the turbo mani will bolt to the early 4-ports. And two peice mani came out with the fuel injection 13b.
