13b and 12a oil pickup

13b and 12a oil pickup

Is there a difference? I switched my 85 gsl to 4 port 13b and I lost the 13B oil pickup that goes in the oil pan can i use the 12a one instead? is there a difference thanks

Oil picks up

The 74-78 4 port 13Bs had a bigger circunference on the screens, which is great, but late models did not had much of a diference if any...

It only matters if you are running a reversed oil pan as in RX-2 13-B transplant. 12-A and 13-B are the same thing except for the screen.

Nope. You're also not really supposed to use a thick oil in a rotary anyway. Take peejay's advice and use a lighter 'weight' oil. I'm in the process of switching from 20w-50 to 10w-30. I think Lynn E. Hannover recommends a lighter oil as well. He described it as having to do with the way the oil is cooled inside the oil cooler.
