13-DEI Swap into first gen

Just recently picked up a complete drivetrain from an 86 and started looking into the swap into my 85 GS. Both are manual.

I have complete set of harnesses, fuses, cooler lines, etc, and anything I don't have the original owner is holding onto until I might need it.

Biggest show stopper right now, please correct me if I'm wrong, is I will need to swap the 12A front plate off the old engine and on to the 13B.

I know I will also need to do some fuel system upgrading and possibly some fab work to get the transmission mounts all nice and friendly.

Any other keys stoppers I'm missing?

*edit*

This is the 6port, NA.

you'll need the front cover from a GSL-SE. i dont think the 12A front cover will work.

I knew I would need a better fuel pump. Now to track down a GSL-SE front plate.\

Just to clarify, when we are saying Front cover, we're referring to the front housing correct? If that's the case, shouldn't the 12A work as well? I know Racingbeat only sells one front side housing form, (two applications race and non-race), be it 12A or 13B through 74-85.

No, a 12A front cover will work just fine. The only difference is that the OMP will have two outlets instead of four. You can either tee them off, or block off two of the oil injectors.

from front to back we have:

front cover
front iron
front housing
mid iron
rear housing
rear iron
bellhousing

you want the aluminum front cover, not the front side housing/iron.
