Smile 12aTurbo, Running Good

I finally got my car running good. Turns out the fuel problems were because of a hose adapter I had between the metal line and the pressure regulator. I replaced it with a normal line and the fuel pressure is perfect. It pulls HARD, seems like I was right about the porting I did and it's sized about perfect for the TII turbo. The intake ports are a TII streetport on secondaries, and stock primaries. I didn't want to cut big intake ports because with this turbo, I would have no top end, with my ports it pulls very hard to 8k, after 7k you can feel it start to drop off slightly but it's barely noticable. The exhaust ports are big, and spool the turbo real quick.

I need to get some new exterior pics up since I have new wheels and tires on there now They look pretty sweet. 13x7, 0offset black diamond racing wheels, 205-60-13 BF goodrich Comp T/A R1 tires. They stick out of the fenders about 1", but so far I've had no problems with rubbing. That might change when I put on my new suspension through.

I'll try to get it to the track or a dyno asap and get some numbers for it

I'll try to get it to a dyno very soon. I bet the torque curve will look exactly like a stock 12a, except the numbers will be 3 times higher

since its a stock turbo 2 turbo the numbers wont be spectacular, i estimate it will make in the 230 to 260 rwhp range @ 10psi wich isnt bad.... now with an upgraded turbo .....the power will jump in the 300 rwhp range......those are fun!!!

Why would I only be running 10psi? Yesterday I increased the boost to 14psi, felt great. I think that might be all the boost the turbo can put out on this motor, but I'll keep trying to get more out of it.

any boost above 14 psi on the stock turbo wont yeild much of any power gain because the turbo superheats the air (the turbo is way past the surge limit) and your overspeeding the turbo so it wont last too long...

he shouldnt crack the back plate again since he has cured his leanout problems.

******* sweet, it WAS running good, now my turbo is fucked completely. Seems like the shaft between the compressor and exhaust wheel snapped. Probably got damaged when I cracked the backplate and it ran with no oil, and just now decided to die since it's now being stressed more.

Hmmm, I'm thinking I might make a custom header for it to make it n/a for a while. I need to be able to drive this car and I probably won't be able to get a new turbo for at least a couple weeks. So hopefully I'll make a header while I'm at work and I'll post up some pics
