12AT into a gsl
with a fuel only stand alone, and the stock ignition system, i assume it would be pretty simple to drop a turbo 12a into a gsl right? on that note, how hard is it to wire up a stand alone fuel only computer? is there a lot of difficult electric work, or is it kind of straight forward?

I have installed a 12A turbo in gsl I had about 5 year agos. I used a stock GSL-SE ecu with the 12A turbo engine and used an aditional injector activated by a pressure switch. It ran great. You can also use a haltech ecu with stock ignition or a microtech ltx 8 with a cas from an fc and would also need to add two injector s for them work .

is it really that simple with a gsl-se ecu? can you use the se wiring harness? what additional injector? where? was the pressure switch hard to do?

the injector is called a starter injector from a saab car. old. it doesn't pulse. ther for the mixutre is the same coming out of it all the time. just run up to your nappa store and get a 12v 6 psi switch or so.

You need to get an 85 gsl-se ecu with wiring harness afm. You must connect 12 volt ecu , the wiring harness will connect to the injectors, tps , coolant sensor that come with the 12a turbo engine ,you also connect a wire from you the ecu to the trailing coil on the negative side. This signal is used by the ecu to pulse the injectors. If you get an original Mazda workshop manual for 84-85 rx-7 it clearly outlines the wires you need to connect.

The fuel only stand alone is the idea i like better, but you will need to buy yourself a nice Air/fuel ratio meter and a wideband 02 sensor, which is expensive. I wired in my own haltech e6x (fuel/ignition) and had a friend help me tune it. It was easy. If you have wired a stereo system together, you can wire the haltech (you need to buy solder and know how to solder, though). The tuning part is a little more in depth.
