12a's secondarys question

hi, i was working in my friends 85 gsl today and the problem is that wont open the secondarys on his carb. i had a gsl before but i never had that trouble so i dont know. things that i did is, clean the carb with carb cleaner, clean the linkage, put WD-40 and did some others things to fix the starting problems and idle. is being like that for a month now and the car doesnt have power at all after 4k rpm. can somebody help me please? thanks

Check for vacuum leaks before you go nuts with the mech. secondaries mod. There's an underlying problem that needs to be solved instead of kludging the linkages together to get around it.

did you check the t-bar, thats what was wrong with mine when they wernt opening. they just wernt hooked up, i dont know why, but i just put the t-bar back on, and it worked great. its located in the back of the carb the side closest to the fire wall. it will be a rod that looks like a t, i think its threaded and everything so you can adust it, but check that out
