12A Turbo swap basics
hello all, the Money Machine has finally span an apex seal or 2,(not bad after 270,000 Km) anyway, im after a new engine, i will stick to a 12A, but i am tossing up the idea of a 12A Turbo, and i am basically after a quick list of what has to be done for this install??
I also have 2 short vids demonstrating what a blown apex seal sounds like i will post soon.
thanks all.

Yeah, shutup kid.
Hmmm, I'll try to help you out, I'm currently putting a TII turbo onto the stock 12a.
First, you'll need to get a better fuel system. I believe the 12aT is a blowthrough carb setup(since I said that it's probably FI though) so the easiest and cheapest thing to do is to get a fuel pump from a GSL-SE and buy a rising rate fuel pressure regulator, should cost about $100 total. If it's FI(probably is since I think it's carb) then you'll have to find a better high pressure fuel pump and regulator.
Depending on what year your car is right now, the stock flywheel/clutch might bolt up fine. If you're clutch is starting to go, now's the perfect time to replace it. My clutch came from www.southbendclutch.com it is the dual friction 6puck clutch, should be $325 or $350 shipped, can't remember which.
Since you are getting the 12a turbo motor, you shouldn't have to worry about the oil feed/return and distributor things.
Exhaust, just go custom. Buy only straight through muffler(s), find a good racing shop close to you and have them put on the mufflers and do it for you. Or do it yourself, get a couple U-bends and some straight pipe and start cutting and welding it together(if you have the tools).
Also, you have to do all the wiring, probably a bitch, but I don't know, never researched that part since I don't have to do it.
Hope I helped and didn't just confuse you more. I didn't look up anything I posted(it's 4:00AM!) so if anything is wrong(probably is) or if I forgot anything please feel free to add/correct me about anything.

hi, this is my first post, but, i think i might be able to help you out a little. if your looking for a 12a Turbo motor, check our http://www.fc3s.org, I know its a 2nd gen. site, but under 'jap spec motors' they sell 12a Turbos now, from what I remember, they were like 1300 perhaps? As far as wiring goes, you would probably be best to go with a HALTEC if you have the cash handy. I havent seen any sucessful conversions using the stock pieces, and, even if you get the motor, I don't have any idea where you can get the ECU or a wiring harness if one is needed. Another option that might prove good is to get throttle bodies for your 12a, and HALTEC it, then custom your own turbo setup. Or, if all else fails, just do a turbo setup on ur current engine, check ebay often, there are kits or pieces that can be used. i hope ive helped out.
