Brake horsepower, as they use a brake device on the engine and how much force it takes to slow/stop the engine is it's BHP rating.

My favorite Corvair was the Corsa (made in 65 & 66). Very cool dash with beautiful gauges, and the 140 hp engine (four single barrel carbs from the factory). Too cool.

If you want a decent corvair web site just to browse, go to CorvairCorsa.com -- lot of photos, history, nostalgia...

Ill check out the link and learn alittle. I always thought they were neat being a rear engine car and air cooled. Ralph Nader hated it lol.

Actually, the 1960-63 corvair handled better than anything of the era. Problem was that the car inspired confidence... and at high speeds, the rear wheels would tuck inwads, causing the vehicle to roll over.

A sway bar in 64 provided significant improvement, and the 2nd Gen corvair in 65 was another great imprvement in setting the handling bar. However, the bad PR and the advent of the Muscle Car era (mustang) killed the Corvair, as the second gen received no new development after the 66 model year, and was dropped in 1969.

Hey everyone! I was the guy that posted the ad on E-bay for the 12 turbo setup. In fact I am still trying to get ahold of the dead-beat that won it! If I cant get ahold of him, it is going to go back up on E-bay, so keep an eye out in the next couple weeks! I'll keep everyone posted.
Thanks, Jason
