12a question

this isnt reallt 1st gen related. but it is a 12a question...

so i remember seeing a while back someone making a single rotor engine with a 12a. it was PP of course and im not sure what it was used for.

im in the process of making a go kart and wanted to use this. i have a spare 12a and one rotor and housing is bad. so i could just use the front plate, rear plate and one rotor housing. but where could i get the e-shaft to do this? would it be the old stock 10a single rotor? i know theres much more to this, but the main problem is the e-shaft...

anyone heard or seen this???

If I'm not mistaken,I think it was Atkins that did it and was used for a lawnmower.

There was a factory-production 1-rotor lawnmower made back in the early 70's. My dad worked for the company that made it - - Arctic, same people who did the Wankel-powered snow mobile. Used a Sachs air-cooled rotary.

Although it would be cool to have a rotary go kart, unless you can find smaller displacement rotors and housings etc, the practicality is going to be nill because of the weight involved. I suppose its all dependent on purpose and taste but a small displacement single piston engine will probably be more efficient use of weight and power etc. (2 stroke 1 cylinder 150cc engine produces something like 35-45 hp, with weight of go kart only weighs about 220 lbs.) It used to be that the 2 stroke 110 cc go karts had more power to weight than an f1 car (early 000's)
