12A Problem

Okay guys I have a problem with my 12A. The other day I put an S4 TII alternator on my 12A and that same day while driving home I all of a sudden felt a power loss and the car vibrated really bad when I stopped. I thought maybe the alternator wasn't tight enough and fell off it's angle but when I popped the hood, that wasn't the case. I cleaned up the spark plugs but it made no difference. The car vibrated and ran really rough as if it were running on half ignition. Well the next day I started the car and it was still rough and then just shut down. Everything shut down. I could even get a click out of the ignition. I swapped the alternators back and she started up but still ran rough. Under throttle, air pops back out of the barrells on the carb. Power is only at 50%-75%. Does anyone have any clue as to what this could be? After I put my new carb on she idled high at about 1500RPMs but ran really smooth. Now it idles at about 1250 to 1500 so I figured it's probably not an apex seal problem but I could be wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated

Pull a leading plug and verify that you still have spark on it. If there was an issue with the alternator installation, you might have blown an ignitor or coil (maybe). Hell, maybe you just bumped something while doing it. My guess is ignition, and since that's pretty easy to verify that's where I'm going to recommend that you start looking. Good luck...

Yep, sounds like you dropped the leading ignition. Did you have the battery disconected when doing the alt install?
