I found what I thought was a 79/80 intake (could be an aftermarket unit) and went to bolt it on my 85 12a racecar motor. As I was lining it up, I noticed a rectangular port underneith the primary ports on the motor that didn't match up with the new intake. It looks to be for the Air pump. What is this rectangular port? Can it be blocked off? If so, how?

Yes it needs to be blocked off. I was told to have someone TIG-weld a small piece of aluminum to the bottom of the new manifold.
