12A Instrument Cluster Wiring

I have a 1985 RX-7 GSL with a 12A engine. The wiring for the instrument cluster seems to be different from what is in the factory service manual for my year. In the factory service manual is the image I attached, which doesn't seem to match up to the wiring, does anyone have a wiring diagram similar to this one but for 12A engines?

I'm about to just give up. I installed new faces in my instrument cluster, the problem is that they are backlit and changable between two different colors. I'm looking for some place to power them that turns on and off with the headlights, but it can't be connected to the same circuit that the dimmer switch controls. These have their own dimmer switch and the instructions say that if they are hooked up to the other dimmer it will destroy the circuitry inside the other dimmer. Unfortunately the instructions aren't specific for any vehicle. I've tried behind the dimmer switch in the dash, but that's powered all the time, and so is the fuse for the tail lights.

Is there any place easy to get to that I can tie into that is powered 12V when the headlights are on, preferably close to the drivers side dash?

http://www.wankel.net/~krwright/cars/rx7/manuals.html has wiring diagrams and FSM.

A Red green wire goes from the light switch to the parking light circuit. If you look under the dash you may be able to identify a Red green wire coming from the steering column. If not, remove the column cover and find the plug (E-01 on the wiring diagram) with the Red green wire and tap in there. This would light your new lights when ever the parking lights are on and is separate from the dimmer. If you really want to hook up to the headlights, the Red yellow wire in the same plug controls the dim lights.

I ended up tying into the steering column, where the two connectors are right next to each other. That was the easiest. Thanks for the suggestion.
