12A Header Question

I've started searching for headers for my car - but have noticed that RB has different part #'s for my 12A '83, and a 12A '84-'85 streetable header...

Are '81-'83 12A's ported differently than '84-85's? Or is the reason for different part #'s a matter of hangers, connections further down the exhaust line, etc?

If they are different, how easy is it to interchange or modify the header?

Thanks!

Its probably has to do with the fact that the exhaust system components are different between 81-83 and 84-85. Example the exhaust manifold is longer on the '81-83 cars.

SO if you were keeping your stock connector pipes you will need the header for the year of your stock exhaust.

But call RB, they have good phone support.

the port size and spacing on the engine is identical, but the exhaust system on an '83 is different than an '84-85.
