You can mix and match 12a and 13b components but its a very expensive exercise for a minimum increase in power. Numerous parts have to be changed including the fuel pump and lines to a high pressure system.
The best information is that you may get a 5-7% increase in power after a lot of work.
This is why people either go for a performance carb like a Holley or Weber, unless they have a good budget and do a complete 13b transplant,

Well my concern really has never been for power on my 7. I really would prefer the higher mileage and the other perks that come with fuel injection. I considered some aftermarket carb's, but none of them are smog legal in CA, so I am stuck. At least if I use a 13B EFI sytem and hood sticker I have a better chance of surviving smog.
