12A (Extend) Streetport Dyno result.

Hi guys, I got this done in Late april. I only posted it in the ms-efi forum, thought some people here might like to see it too.

I'm pretty happy with that result.

114.7rwhp = 86rwkw

Out of interest, that rise in the power around 134kph was well off the 8000rpm racho. Just for note the run was done in 3rd gear

Was running 28BTDC timing with 0 split after 5000rpm

The motor is a fresh rebuild ~7000kms

Mods done are

85 12A rotors clearanced
New 82 Housings exhaust ported
3 window rear stationary gear
82 N "Grey" Tallport plates, extend (street) ported
New bearings, seals and springs throughout

Tuned Nikki carby (running 12.8:1 under load as graph shows)
Megasquirt Controlling ignition Coil/plug

The exhaust is a race style header that collects about the gearbox into 2.5" piping. 2 1.5ft hotdogs, and then a stupid centre offset muffler under the bum. The over the diff section is press bent which I'm looking at changing soon

Lightweight Flywheel
Daiken HD clutch
4.44s in differential
Jspec 12AT gearbox

nice to see more numbers from the 12a, you should be able to squeeze more out of that though. If its a SP ... this is mine:

Supporting mods are listed below

Nice numbers, but I'm with dj55b. I think you've got quite a bit more power hiding in there. Most of the streetports I've seen can get close to 150 whp without a whole lot of trouble. I think with some more supporting mods you could see a lot more of your streetport's power coming out...

Yes mine recently dynoed @118 with a stockport motor, full rb exhaust, and untuned weber dcoe 45 so you should be pulling more with your setup. Have you broken her in good yet?

Just curious, is that 118 bhp or whp?

Most likely whp. Not many people actually put their engines on a brake dyno.

If you assume 15% driveline losses, that's about 138 bhp, which is pretty good for a stockport. There might be another 10 hp in there somewhere once the DCOE is right on...

I'm really hoping I can get close to that with my setup, once it's finished. It doesn't help that the carbs I bought were incomplete and damaged.

Dynodynamics is the trusted and true dyno-meter in my country. The readings are meant to be true to what the car makes. I'm not sure how that dyno run compares.

I've heard that DD reads around 15% lower (might even be more) than dynojet.

I do know the results from the dyno day I went to were verified by comparing an OEM car to its OEM power output, which came to within 2% of its manufacturer rated BHP (after taking in account driveline loss).

I'm happy with the result. The car does have the following limitations too.

Standard Carby no mods other than being jetted correctly
Exhaust is definetly sub ideal have press bends throughout
The exhaust collects about 1.5m too early.
The single pipe section has 2 hotdogs in it.
The over the diff section is rather *tight bends* and the pipe seems to close even more.

The rear muffler is centre offset style (like they use on v8s) and not a typical rotary drum style muffler.

My clutchfan may also be sticking on too

Oh and I had the port cut small, (deliberatly), I'm planning on bolting this on soon

For comparisons sake.

There was a 10APP that made ~110rwhp.
12A bridgeport made 140rwhp
13B PP made 220rwhp

some stupid v8 made less than the lowest rotary

Dyno Dynamics dynos which are a load cell dyno typically read about 15% lower then the inertia based Dynojet.

Assuming your dyno read 15% above, its a good result seeing as you probably have a better exhaust and carby
